Kentucky and Indiana have been identified as being in the “Stroke Belt” – a group of states in the southeastern U.S. with a higher incidence of stroke than the rest of the nation – due to a number of different environmental and lifestyle factors including smoking, high blood pressure, cholesterol levels, etc., and a lack of understanding in how to reduce or eliminate known risk factors, so time is of the essence!
